WHAT

Sir DEMON is a fast-paced action-arcade game for Android. As you place finger on the screen, the demonic mouth opens and the challenge begins! Colorful blocks start falling from the top of the screen, along with blue collectibles. The goal is simple - get as many points as possible. The patterns of falling blocks are semi-random, as they consist of predefined segments that combine with each other.

Collectibles vary on value, so you must make fast decisions on the way - the bigger, the better. On your way to the top of the leaderboards you will also encounter mysterious powerups - they will give you one of the 7 special effects, based on seven sins. Mostly, they will help you - apart from "WRATH", which increases the speed of the blocks for a short time.

They are seven levels total - but only three of them are unlocked on the beggining. To unlock the remaining stages, you must achieve a score of 200 in previous ones - which at first try, proves to be rather difficult.

Sir DEMON's classy moustache grows with your score, so a quick glance on the screen lets you know if someone's good!

Sir DEMON features online leaderboards provided by Google Play Game Services, so you can compare your score with anyone in the world.

WHY

I like fast-paced, action games that challenge your reflexes and require quick decison-making. But most games on the mobile devices are slow-paced, puzzle games. That is understandable, as it is hard to concentrate while playing on the go - you must be able to pause the game anytime, etc. To combat that, I've decided to simplify: you have the finger on the screen - the game is on. You don't - let's pause it. Now you can make a short break to get off the bus with no problem :)

WHO

I was interested in gamedev since I was a child. I've spent endless hours in various game editors, creating my own worlds, but I've never got the guts to make my own complete game. As I've studied architecture, the truth revealed itself to me: It was easy to get the M.Arch in Poland, but nearly impossible to earn enough money to survive after the school. That was the definitive impulse to get my hands dirty in Java - and here you are, my first game ever. Hope you'll like it!

HOW

I've designed the gameplay, programmed the app and made the graphics by myself. It's my first game, and my fist java app ever. Sir DEMON is made using the open source game framework, LibGDX. I've used SFXR and BFXR to generate sounds. I've hunted for the best chiptune music on the cc-by license for a month.
